A capture is immutable: an upstream correction arrives as a new versioned capture, never as a silent edit to an old one. Why this edition does not include Retrosheet’s Summer 2026 corrections
The 2025 analytical edition is reproduced from the preserved Fall 2025 Retrosheet capture named in the manifest below. Retrosheet's Summer 2026 release (2026-08-09) published later historical corrections to previously-released seasons — attendance figures, clarified plays, promoted deduced files. Those corrections are not applied retroactively to this edition, because an edition is pinned to the exact bytes it was built from; applying them in place would break the reproduction path this page exists to guarantee. A future completed-season generation will be built from the then-current admitted Retrosheet corpus.

Modern tracking data are not one stable measurement system. When (and only when) a lawful admitted source exists, every tracking-era metric here will carry a regime flag: 2015 full-park Statcast · 2020 Hawk-Eye optical transition · 2023 high-frame-rate cameras and partial-season bat tracking · 2024 public bat speed · 2025 framing-model update · 2026 ABS coordinate and zone redefinition. Series that cross a regime boundary without a flag are treated as invalid.
